Fatherhood at CDR

Since 2006, the Fatherhood Program at CDR has provided vital services to over 1,000 fathers and father figures in the Historic Triangle and beyond.

The workshops we offer provide parenting skills and education from our team of dedicated Fatherhood Consultants. The Fatherhood Program recognizes the importance of being an involved father, that’s why these workshops are designed to give you the tools and resources needed to be the best parent you can be. We are also available to provide one-on-one support, workforce assistance, and share links to valuable resources in our area.

Fatherhood Services

For expectant fathers, Rookie Dads is a two-part workshop that teaches baby basics such as feeding, diaper changing, swaddling, calming techniques, and even provides information about bonding with your newborn and postpartum depression and anxiety.

24/7 Dads is a 24-hour workshop series that focuses on parenting topics like discipline and communication, along with co-parenting skills and information about your child’s growth and development. The 24/7 Dad workshop is offered at various locations throughout the community. The Fatherhood Program also offers the 24/7 Dad workshop, paired with workforce assistance and economic stability sessions, in two local jails to equip dads with useful skills as they reenter the community after incarceration.
